When I started this Laser Engraving business, one of the items we started doing for customers immediately were cutting boards. They were simple yet very classy and soon became very popular. We now offer about 7 different styles and the 3 boards below are our most popular.
These boards measure 13.5" x 11.5" x .75" thick. The two tone Bamboo gives a classic color combination that is crisp and amazing. Although we didn't realize it at the time we soon found out that Bamboo is one wood that gives a very nice look once lasered. Its funny how sometimes you just land on a quality product out of luck and that is exactly what we did when we started doing these boards.
Soon after we started making these boards, it became necessary to attach a style to each one so that when at a show or describing them to others we could easily distinguish one cutting board from another. The Styles below are: The Trinity, The Huber, and The Deegan. :-) Strangely enough those where the first names we put on those particular styles and they just stuck!
In the beginning we just bought the cutting boards at Bed Bath and Beyond. Now we buy them through JDS industries because we can get a good bulk pricing discount. In this business it is so important to keep COGS down. (Cost Of Goods Sold) Keeping COGS down and Quality up is what we try to do here at MBJD LASER and this is one product that has stood the test of time.
Of course we do fully custom cutting boards as well!
