What is Vector Cutting? Vector cutting with a laser is the process of cutting out a shape or figure. Popular items to vector cut are wood, acrylic and poster board. Vectoring = Cutting out ______________________________________________________________ What is Rastering? Rastering with a laser is the process of producing a topical burn onto an object. The simplest explanation is that rastering an object with a laser is like printing. All rastered items produce a different type of look. For example glass will raster a frost white color, while wood will raster a brown or black color. Plastic type items are a bit of a wild card or unknown. Rastering = Printing ______________________________________________________________ What is V-Carving? V-Carving is basically taking a router and creating a design on a piece of wood using a "V" shaped router bit. Here at MBJD Laser we use the Shop Bot Desktop CNC to create all of our v-carved signs. The signs we create are custom and the Shop Bot does an amazing job with outstanding results. ______________________________________________________________ What is CerMark? CerMark is basically a metal marking spray used primarily for marking on bare metal and stainless steel. Most customers see it being used on Yeti's, RTIC, or Ozark Trail stainless steel cups. Cermark allows stainless steel to turn black when lasered. On occasion when using Cermark with logos that have large black areas, the image can get an inconsistent look from item to item. It doesn't alway happen, but it can. This is normal and is not considered a flaw. Rather it is the nature of large bold or black areas when using Cermark. ______________________________________________________________ REFUNDS * Many, if not all of our products are custom made just for you. Unfortunately we are not able to accept returns due to the custom nature of these products. Please read the item description and instructions carefully and ask any questions before ordering. * Non-custom items can be returned 7 days from the delivery date only, in original packaging, and in brand new condition. The cost of the item will be refunded, however the shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. _______________________________________________ CANCELLATIONS * If you would like to cancel an order, please contact us immediately. Once you place the order we take pride in getting the product to you as quickly as possible, so if we have started the engraving process those items are yours and they will be shipped and ineligible for cancellation. If we have not started creating your items we would be happy to stop the order. _______________________________________________ ERRORS / MISTAKES * Errors are very uncommon, but we are human and it can happen. If we make a mistake on your order we will give you two options: 1. We will send a replacement out to fix our error and you can keep the first item as well. Understandably we may require a photo of the mistake for our records. 2. You can return the item and we will give you a full refund including the cost of shipping. _______________________________________________ Turn around time * We get asked a lot about how long it will take to recieve the finished product. Although we can not make a concrete promise, the vast majority of our work gets delivered within 2-7 business days of placing the order. Delivery times are dictated by quantity ordered, in stock items, and artwork setup time. Believe me when I say, we will ship the item just as soon as we get the job completed. We want happy customers and every effort will be made to get you the final product quickly. _______________________________________________ Understanding Laser Engraving * We will do everything in our power to get you exactly what you want, however there are instances where artwork or a layout simply does not work as you are requesting. We reserve the right to use our professional experience/discretion to make small changes so that the laser engraving looks as good as it can. If big changes are necessary we will contact you first before doing any work. _______________________________________________ Wood Items * Wood items have an amazing laser engraved look. However, please understand that no two pieces of wood will look exactly the same. Color, tone, grain structure, knots etc might look very different from one piece of wood to another. At MBJD Laser we try to hand select the best pieces for your project! Part of the beauty in wood is that each piece is unique in its own right. _______________________________________________ Stainless Steel Cups * Lasering on Stainless Steel cups also looks amazing. A few things to know about stainless steel cups is each brand has their pros and cons. The one question we get from time to time is why are their odd smudges on my cups? All cups come with a paper wrapping from the manufacturer, and we on occasion remove that wrapping so that we can do our laser engraving. Eventhough we do all we can to clean the smudging off, sometimes it gets left behind. Normal washing over time will remove this without much trouble. Firearms and Guns * Lasering on Firearms and guns is a great way to personalize your investment. Because of the unique nature to every gun, it is hard if not impossible to give quotes over email or the phone. If you have a gun that you would like laser engraved you will need to bring it in so that we can see and discuss together any work you are wanting done. When done properly, guns have an amazing laser engraved look! However, please understand that sometimes the artwork and location of the engraving is not possible as you are requesting with our equipment. Each Firearm has unique challenges in the Laser Engraving process and we will make every effort to inform you of what can and can't be done. _______________________________________________ Shipping * Currently MBJD Laser only ships to the continental US. Your items will be shipped by USPS OR by UPS with a tracking number. _______________________________________________ Fonts * When placing your order, many of our products require you to choose a font. Below is a list of what we have found to be our most popular fonts. You simply need to choose what font you would like, as well as type out EXACTLY what you want the item to say in the "NOTE TO SELLER" box. If you prefer a different font then we have listed send us a note and we will do our best to get you what you want. We have hundreds of fonts to pick from. |
